ALABAMA WELSH SOCIETY presented with commemorative frame
Inner Frame recently created a commemorative frame for the Alabama Welsh Association located within the USA .
It was decided to contact the Alabama Welsh Association after reading locally of their campaign to re-instate a plaque in the local park area in the coast town of Mobile Bay, Alabama .
The plaque in basic terms commemorates the landing of the Welsh Prince Madog in Mobile Bay , Alabama in 1170 and states that the Prince was the original founder of the USA . It is alleged that he sailed from our hometown here in Colwyn Bay on his epic journey across the Atlantic .
At the time of contact it was envisaged that as a motion was slow to progress through the senate, any decision to re-instate the plaque would not be given until January 2009. As a result, Inner Frame offered their services to provide a commemorative frame that could be placed within the meeting place of the Alabama Welsh Association.
However, we are glad to say that the senate passed a motion re-instating the plaque prior to January 2009. The commemorative frame we sent to the Alabama Welsh Association has been received by them and we are pleased to say they are extremely happy with what we have provided for them.
